When the tones go off in the middle of the night, it’s your neighbors, teachers, mechanics, and parents who jump out of bed to help. We do it because we love this community. ❤️

We rely on neighbors like you to keep our equipment ready and our station running.

Did you know that most home fires start in the kitchen? If you’re living in an apartment, a small grease fire can affect dozens of your neighbors in minutes!

The Golden Rules:
✅ Never leave the stove unattended (yes, even for a "quick" text).
✅ Keep a lid nearby—if a pan catches fire, slide the lid over it and turn off the heat.
🚫 NEVER throw water on a grease fire.

Stay safe, Botetourt! 🙌🏻

**STRUCTURE FIRE**

Last night at 0115, the volunteers were alerted to a possible structure fire in the 200 block of Sunset Hill Lane. Engine 2 responded with three personnel, followed by the tanker. Wagon 4 (first due) arrived to find a two-story residential home with fire showing from the rear of the structure. Wagon 4 stretched a line to the Charlie side, with Tanker 4 supplying water.

Engine 2 arrived and was assigned search operations. Due to heavy fire conditions, the engine company conducted the search with a hose line. Utility 2 responded with two personnel as additional manpower. Tanker 2 established a water supply via a drop tank.

Fire 4 (Command) requested a tanker task force. Engine 2 completed an all-clear of the structure and continued fire suppression operations. The occupants of the home have been displaced.

Strong work by all companies on scene.

Units on scene:
Engine 2, Tanker 2, Utility 2.
Wagon 4, Tanker 4, Fire 4.
Tanker 1, Tanker 5.
County 12, Ambulance 4, Medic 2, Engine 7 County 7.
