💕Hope everyone had a Happy Valentine’s Day!💕

February flew by, but Town Council definitely kept me busy! Here’s my little recap:

🏛️ Attended our agenda and council meetings (and yes, I took notes… 😉).
🎯 Completed a helpful orientation for new council members.
👉 Joined neighbors at the Planning and Zoning Board meeting to talk through development concerns — safety, roads, infrastructure, and environmental issues were topics of concern from residents.
✅ Completed Essentials of Municipal Government and Ethics on February 19–20 in Greensboro.
📍Attended our Strategic Planning Retreat on February 25–26.
🤝 Met with several residents over coffee, lunch, and dinner to hear what residents feel is working (and what’s not) around town, with emphasis on our town board meeting time. 😇
📖 Spent way too many evenings reading zoning updates so I can explain them in plain English (because zoning language should never require a translator-but it does).

February wasn’t glamorous, but it was full. I’m grateful for the residents who showed up, spoke up, and reminded me why Troutman is worth the work.

🍀Onward to March🍀… where I’m sure the zoning terminology will continue to keep me humble and highly caffeinated. ☕

Infrastructure issues are HERE because of a lack of proactive leadership. We MUST get ahead of ALL growth, including residential and commercial. Citizens’ voices matter and we must work together to keep our small town feel.

Vote tor change! Vote for Tonya Reynolds Bartlett!

Must a town annex a property solely because it is depicted as annexed within town limits on the 30-year plan?
