Great news! This week, I joined advocates and Governor Janet Mills to sign LD 1474 into law. This bill strengthens Wabanaki Studies, helping ensure students learn the full history and ongoing contributions of the Wabanaki Nations.

Thank you to the Wabanaki Alliance, Maine Education Association, and Maine Indian Tribal-State Commission for your fierce advocacy, and to all who contacted AFA committee members or signed a letter in support of this bill. We did it!
