Kitty Victoria Smith is in white dress behind the third boy in the front row, Idella Smith is standing next to her, Leora Smith is the tall girl with dark hair in the back next to the teacher … Back row. second from right is Nathan Virgil Smith. By the known age of the Smith children I would estimate the date of the photo to be approximately 1910.

The photo was made January 7, 1900 at Daniel Spring near Garth, Alabama. The man on the front row holding the child is my Great Grandfather, Nathan Deris Smith, the child is Victoria "Kitty" Smith who lived in Garth until her death. In Nathan's other hand was a puppy that grew into the family dog. The photos is accurate of the original, I have repaired pecks & scratches and added color.
