Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness is a Mercer County based non-profit organization. The Alliance builds collaborative systems and implements strategies to end homelessness in Mercer County. The agency is looking for a part-time office manager. The position is for
20 hours per week @ $18.00 per hour. All qualified candidates should forward a resume to [email protected].

Key Accountabilities:
• Provide direct support to the Executive Director. Maintain files, answer phones, schedule meetings, prepare and send out meeting agenda, update calendar in outlook, coordinate conference registration and reimbursements, assist in the preparation of grant applications, process grant reimbursement to local government, prepare correspondence, update page and web-site, record Board meeting minutes and prepare agenda for the meeting.
• Update and maintain i-contact and mailing list.
• Support Social Media efforts by responding to posts and posting events.
• Assist with annual fundraiser.
• Verify payroll and maintain Paychex financial information.
• Pay monthly vendor expenses through QuickBooks.
• Provide monthly reconciliation for three bank accounts.
• Prepare, record and deposit checks.
• Assist with preparation of annual audit.
• Must be able to problem solve, ensure all assigned tasks are completed within the defined deadlines, multi-task, work in a fast paced environment where initiatives change daily / weekly based on business needs. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
• Other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
• Associates Degree preferred. Two (2) years of experience may replace an associate’s degree.
• Minimum 4 years of office experience.
• Must be proficient in data entry, QuickBooks and Microsoft Office.
• Social Media research and skills a plus.
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining effective working relationships with executive director, board members and the general public.
• Meet all agency hiring criteria

December 21st is National Homeless Persons’ Remembrance Day. It is observed on the first day of winter and created to remember those who have passed away in the past year while experiencing homelessness. Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness will host the annual ecumenical memorial service on this day at Turning Point United Methodist Church, 15 South Broad Street, Trenton, NJ 08608 at 10:00 am. A luncheon will be provided by Trenton Area Soup Kitchen at the Rescue Mission of Trenton for those in attendance following the service.
All are welcome to attend and remember that the homeless are more than their condition and deserving of our respect and compassion.

It is with great sadness that I inform you of the passing of our former chairman, Clifford Goldman.

Cliff was a gifted individual of great character, intellect and compassion. He was able to bring his abundant talents together to passionately advocate on behalf of the homeless families and individuals of the Trenton/Mercer community, and guide and promote the development of the Alliance's nationally recognized efforts to end homelessness.

His great personal warmth and spirit infused the Alliance and its community and governmental partners with the zeal to develop creative, yet pragmatic, solutions that focused on using permanent housing to end homelessness, and reconnect our most challenged citizens with our community,

He will be greatly missed by us all, but forever remembered for his many contributions as a true public servant.

Cliff’s family has chosen to direct memorial contributions in his memory to the Coalition of Peace Action or the Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness.

Mercer Alliance to End Homelessness is proud to be 1 of over 350 advocates in Washington, D.C. with the message “No Housing Cuts” and “Opportunity Starts at Home.” Monarch Housing Associates has led the planning of the Congressional Reception with 35 partner organizations from across New Jersey for the 3rd year of this annual event. Constituents and advocates will urge New Jersey’s congressional delegation to oppose proposed devastating spending cuts to programs that give New Jersey residents access to affordable homes.
