Did you know? 💡
OSC’s Public Contracting Oversight (PCO) Division acts as a circuit breaker helping ensure local governments and public entities enter contracts that follow the law.

Every year, our attorneys review hundreds of public procurements for prospective contracts valued over $3 million from more than 1,900 state and local entities.

This oversight helps ensure contracts are awarded competitively, transparently, and fairly.

Recent reviews include:
❄️ A $300M statewide snowplowing operations procurement
💻 A $200M statewide computer equipment procurement
🚧 A $37.5M Meadowlands Pedestrian Bridge Design/Build procurement

We want to make sure New Jersey Medicaid beneficiaries have clear, easy access to information.

OSC has launched a new searchable Ineligible Provider List 🔍 — a tool you can use to check whether a doctor, practice, or other provider is allowed to participate in NJ Medicaid.

This tool helps you make sure you’re getting care from someone who is approved to work with the Medicaid program ✅.

You can search by name or business here 🔗

OSC is committed to protecting Medicaid resources and supporting the people who rely on the state’s healthcare program.

Kicking off summer with some good government news 🌊☀️

New Jersey has updated its lifeguard pension system

An OSC audit in 2025 uncovered outdated law requiring fourth-class cities—seaside cities bordering the Atlantic Ocean—to operate a lifeguard pension plan, saddling municipalities with a significant financial burden.

The new law lets the cities close their old pension plans to new hires, and ensures lifeguards get their contributions back if they do not qualify for a pension.

This updated legislation helps towns manage costs.
