The Missouri State Parks system is composed of 91 parks and historic sites managed by the Dept. Crowder State Park was created in 1938 to commemorate Major General Enoch Herbert Crowder. Crowder is best known as the “father of the selective service”. Crowder also served as the first ambassador to Cuba. The park is comprised of 1,912 acres of rugged slopes and stately forests.
