🌍Global Classrooms start with Global Teachers! 🌍

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Lisa Kinsey from Jones Senior High School, who traveled on an unforgettable, transformative educational journey to South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, and Zimbabwe with Go Global NC!

Ms. Kinsey spent time immersing herself in local cultures, collaborating with international educators, and gathering incredible insights. Programs like Go Global NC empower our teachers to bring the world directly into our classrooms, strengthening global awareness, empathy, and curiosity in our students.

Jones County Student Services Department recently hosted an MOU Community Day for district and administrative staff. The event brought together local partners to highlight the diverse support systems available to our students, such as mental health resources, mentoring programs, and community services.

We are incredibly grateful to all of our partners who joined us, and we look forward to our continued collaboration to support our students! 🤝💙

Teachers from across the Southeast region recently gathered at the Jones County Schools Professional Development Center for the Foundations of Math training. This training is offered by NCDPI and professional math trainers. The trainer for this event is Jenny Ainslie from Wake County. This collaborative event brought together Jones County’s own educators as well as teaching professionals from neighboring school districts.

Designed to sharpen instructional practices and elevate student achievement, the workshop provided a vibrant space for regional collaboration. Attendees will spend 5 days together in June and July exploring foundational mathematical concepts, diving into data-driven teaching methods, and exchanging successful classroom strategies. By working across district lines, our local educators are helping build a stronger, more connected network of math instruction for students throughout Eastern North Carolina.
