New Jersey-India Commission Congratulates Four Members Appointed to Governor-Elect Mikie Sherrill’s Transition Team
Appointments Cement Voice of Indian American Community in Incoming Administration
Trenton, N.J. - The New Jersey-India Commission extends its congratulations to four of its members-Dini Ajmani, Kiran Handa Gaudioso, Amit Jani, and Dr. Gurbir S. Johal, MD.- on their appointments to the transition team of Governor-Elect Mikie Sherrill.
The Commission views these appointments as a clear signal that the new administration values deep engagement with the Indian American community-New Jersey’s fastest-growing demographic. The appointees will leverage their insights from their long record of leadership across policy, civic engagement, and community development, to advise on foundational policies concerning economic opportunity, robust public education, and health equity — ensuring that the unique priorities of the community are championed from the outset of the new administration.
"We are immensely proud of Dini, Kiran, Amit, and Dr. Johal for accepting these crucial roles," said Wesley Mathews, NJ-India Commission Chairman. "Their selection by Governor-Elect Sherrill reflects not only their individual professional expertise in business, healthcare, and community affairs but also the collective recognition of the Indian American community's vital contributions to New Jersey's economic and cultural landscape. This is a monumental step forward for South Asian representation in our state government."
“These appointments reflect the growing role and responsibility of the Indian American community in shaping New Jersey’s future,” said Rajpal S. Bath, NJ-India Commission Executive Director. “Their participation in the transition process ensures that the administration benefits from diverse perspectives grounded in public service, economic leadership, and community engagement.”
The New Jersey-India Commission looks forward to collaborating with the Governor-Elect and her Transition Team to ensure a seamless and productive start to the administration in January.
