It’s not something people would immediately think of but with the unusually hot weather lately, it’s worth sharing. 2 years ago this baby suffered 2nd degree burns over 30% of his body from being accidentally sprayed with a garden hose and firefighters have issued a fresh warning recently.

A garden hose exposed to direct sunlight during summer can heat the water inside the hose (not flowing) to 130-140 degrees Fahrenheit which can cause burns especially to children & animals.
Let the water flow a few minutes to cool before spraying on people or animals.

This was not a call our department ran. This is simply a reminder to let the water run until its cool before spraying a child or animal.

The NWS has issued a Tornado Watch for Dade, Walker and Catoosa County until 11:00 pm this evening.

London, KY was hit by a long track EF-3 tornado this past weekend leaving devastation and death in the aftermath. The vast majority of the state's deaths from the tornado outbreak are being reported in London.

Fire and Rescue volunteers from Dade are working to send help this weekend to London, KY.

If you would like to help, you will find a list below of items being requested. Donations can be dropped at the Davis Fire Department or you can contact Brianna Butler for the Davis and New Home Communities. Donations can also be dropped off Trenton-Dade County Fire station between 7 am and 5 pm (contact- Ansel Smith).

We hosted April's Three Alarm Pancake Breakfast with Davis Fire & Rescue and Tri-Community Higdon Station 1 Fire Department today. A huge thank you to the members of both departments as this event could not be possible without your help. Thank you to all our community members who came out to support us today and a special thank you to the members of the Whitfield County Fire Department who attended and visited with us.

Next breakfast will be held at Davis the first weekend in May.
