Candidate Filing Opens June 8 for Jones County Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor

Individuals interested in serving on the Jones County Soil and Water Conservation District Board may file for candidacy beginning at noon on Monday, June 8, 2026. The filing period will close at 5:00 p.m. on Monday, July 6, 2026.

Two Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor seats will be on the ballot in the November 3, 2026 General Election. Candidates must file in person at the Jones County Board of Elections office, located at 367 NC Highway 58 South, Unit B, Trenton, NC 28585.

To be eligible, candidates must be at least 21 years of age and a registered voter residing in Jones County. A filing fee of $5 is required and may be paid by cash or personal check.

The office of Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor is nonpartisan; therefore, no primary election will be held.

The Jones County Board of Elections office is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to Noon. Please note that the office will be closed on Friday, July 3, 2026, in observance of Independence Day.
