Nottingham Ambulance Squad Inc Nottingham Ambulance Squad is one of the last few remaining 100% volunteer ambulance services in Mercer County. and started a building fund drive.

We provide emergency medical services to residents of Hamilton Township at absolutely no cost, and we have been doing so since the 1950's The Nottingham Ambulance Squad started out in the 1950s in the Nottingham Fire Department's building on Mercer Street in Hamilton Square, NJ. It quickly out grew the firehouse and needed to be more centrally located, to better suit the needs of the resident's. I

n 1980 we changed our name to the Nottingham Ambulance Squad Inc. Ground was broken in 1980. On September 10, 1983 there was a ribbon cutting ceremony for our new home on Paxson Ave. Extension, which we still call home today. The property on Paxson Ave. Extension was the site of the old Hamilton YMCA pool. Nottingham Ambulance Squad is one of the last remaining 100% volunteer ambulance services in Mercer County. We currently provide emergency medical services to the residents of Hamilton Township at absolutely no charge. We are fully funded by generous donations from our community. We proudly serve our community with 2 ambulances (111-3 and 111-4), a supervisor's car, and 12-foot enclose Utility/Special Events trailer. We currently have over 40 dedicated members volunteering countless hours of their time to service our community. However, we are always looking for more new members. 🚑 A Heartfelt Farewell: Nottingham Volunteer Ambulance Squad's Final Chapter 🏥

For 45 incredible years, the Nottingham Volunteer Ambulance Squad has been the unsung heroes of Hamilton Township, NJ - a beacon of hope and community service that has touched countless lives. Today, we share a bittersweet message about our upcoming closure on December 31, 2025, marking the end of an extraordinary volunteer journey that has defined emergency medical care in our community.

Our story is one of dedication, compassion, and selfless service. Volunteers have been the heart and soul of our organization, rushing to aid residents during their most vulnerable moments. Despite our deep commitment, the challenging reality of recruiting volunteers has led to this difficult decision. The good news is that emergency medical services will continue uninterrupted, with Robert Wood Johnson hospital maintaining their 24/7 ambulance coverage for Hamilton Township residents.

We want to express our profound gratitude to everyone who has supported us over these decades. To the dedicated volunteers who gave countless hours, to the community members who trusted us in their times of need, and to Hamilton Township for their unwavering support - THANK YOU! 🙏❤️

LEON A. KULICZKOWSKI OBITUARY

Leon Anthony Kuliczkowski, 78, of Hamilton, NJ, passed away on August 5, 2025, at Greenwood House Senior Healthcare in Ewing. He was born on June 7, 1947, in Blakely, PA, and was a proud resident of the Trenton area throughout his life.

A graduate of Trenton Catholic High School in 1965, Leon dedicated over 37 years to the State of New Jersey, Department of Transportation, where he worked as an Electrical Engineer. He approached his career with the same passion and commitment that he exemplified in all aspects of his life.

Leon’s heart was deeply rooted in community service, particularly in Emergency Medical Services throughout the county. He began his journey with the 11th Zone Volunteer Ambulance Squad while still a young man. His lifelong dedication to helping others continued as he served as a Mercer County Paramedic and an EMT for decades. He remained an active and esteemed Life Member of the Nottingham Ambulance Squad. Over the years at the Squad, he held various leadership roles, including a Line Officer, Executive Officer and as a Trustee. On behalf of the Squad, he also was a representative to the New Jersey State First Aid Council’s Ninth District.

Leon was more than just a dedicated Paramedic/EMT. He was a cornerstone of emergency services throughout Mercer County. His decades of unwavering service, leadership, and mentorship has left an indelible mark on our community.

Leon shared his valuable knowledge with others as an instructor in Emergency Medical Services. Leon instructed recertification classes for Capital Health personnel and he spent countless years selflessly educating and guiding new and experienced EMTs, shaping generations of lifesavers with his knowledge, patience and passion for the field. His legacy will continue to live on in every responder he trained and every life that was touched by his dedication.

Beyond his unwavering commitment to service, Leon was a vibrant and joyful spirit. He was known for his practical jokes and had a great sense of humor. He cherished bowling nights at Hamilton Lanes, especially with his teams on Thursday evenings, and shared many cherished family vacations during his youth. His heart belonged to sports as well, passionately supporting the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. In this time of reflection, we remember a man who not only served his community with extraordinary dedication, but also filled lives with joy, laughter, and compassion. Leon's spirit will continue to inspire those who knew him, and he will be dearly missed.

Leon was predeceased by his beloved parents, Anthony and Elizabeth (Siarkiewicz) Kuliczkowski and is remembered with love by his dear friends, Laurel MacKenzie and Denise Buchalski, both of Hamilton. He is also survived by his friends and caregivers at Greenwood House, his extended EMS family and numerous cousins.

Funeral services will begin on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 8:45 a.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, located at 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00 a.m. at Divine Mercy Parish-Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 218 Adeline Street, Trenton, NJ 08611.

Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton, NJ,

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, providing an opportunity for all to share in the celebration of Leon’s life and legacy.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Life Member Leon Kuliczkowski of the Nottingham Volunteer Ambulance Squad.

Leon was more than just a dedicated Paramedic/EMT — he was a cornerstone of emergency services throughout Mercer County. His decades of unwavering service, leadership, and mentorship left an indelible mark on our community.

Leon spent countless years selflessly educating and guiding new EMTs, shaping generations of lifesavers with his knowledge, patience, and passion for the field. His legacy will continue to live on in every responder he trained and every life that was touched by his dedication.
