Mercer County Special Services School District is committed to serve as a catalyst for providing innovative integrated programs and services. We serve individuals with significant disabilities as well as meeting the specialized needs of districts and agencies. Through leadership and the collaborative efforts of staff, family, sending districts and community, the district will provide students with the skills necessary to become contributing members of our society.

MHS finished our program with Rutgers, The Enhancing School Mental Health Services (ESMHS) Project.

Sponsored by the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE), Division of Educational Services; 100% funded by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 – Coronavirus State Fiscal Recovery Fund.

About the program: The Rutgers Center for Comprehensive School Mental Health (Rutgers-CCSMH) delivers training, technical assistance, and consultation to K-12 schools, districts, and state education agencies to support the implementation of comprehensive school-based mental health systems.

Yesterday, our educators stepped away from the classroom to focus on growth and well-being. From the cutting edge of AI for Special Education to the rhythmic healing of percussion, our Staff Professional Development Day was one for the books!

We balanced the "work" with the "wellness" through:
Brain Power: Team Trivia and Naive Perceptions workshops.
Mindfulness: Meditative walks and kinetic meditation to reset.
Connection: Intro to ASL and some friendly competition with Volleyball and Bingo.
Joy: Name That Tune and drum circles!

Feeling refreshed, inspired, and ready to bring this amazing energy back to our school community.
