Delaney Redford, Director of Public Affairs for the New Jersey Food Council, is a 2026 graduate of the inaugural Fellowship of the Women's Political Caucus of New Jersey (WPCNJ).
She recently completed the selective program designed to empower emerging women leaders to pursue public office, policy roles, and civic leadership. There were 15 graduates in the program.
Supported by the WPCNJ Education and Training Fund, the Fellowship provides participants with mentorship, hands-on learning, and meaningful engagement opportunities. The program is dedicated to equipping fellows with the expertise, confidence, and connections they need to lead and influence change at every level — from local advocacy to statewide leadership.
This skills-based program provided six full-day learning sessions from January to May.
"Delaney exemplifies exactly the kind of dedicated, mission-driven leader the WPCNJ Fellowship was designed to elevate,” said Linda Doherty, president & CEO, NJFC. “From the moment she joined the NJFC, she has brought exceptional commitment to her work in advocacy and communications — and this achievement is a testament to who she is both professionally and personally.
“We are incredibly proud of her as one of 15 graduates of this inaugural class, and I have no doubt that the skills, connections, and confidence she's gained will only amplify the outstanding work she already does every day,” Doherty added. “Congratulations, Delaney — you've earned this."
At the NJFC, Redford provides advocacy and communications work on behalf of food retailers, including supermarkets, independent grocers and convenience stores, and their suppliers.
Redford joined the NJFC in 2022 as Associate Director of Public Affairs before advancing to her current role. She brings a strong background in public service and community-focused communications, shaped through internships with the International Rescue Committee, the U.S. Department of State’s NY-Metro Diplomat in Residence, and a U.S. Senator’s Office.
A 2022 graduate of Drew University, she holds a B.A. in International Relations with a minor in Law, Justice, & Society and earned Civic Honors for her commitment to public engagement.
WPCNJ aims to actively involve women of all generations in the political realm through a variety of events, programs, and workshops. The caucus leadership comprises a broad spectrum of women from various fields including politics, healthcare, biotech, academia, business, corporate sectors, and non-profit organizations.
