What a wonderful night under the big top!

On Friday, May 15, 2026, several Children's Futures families had the opportunity to attend the opening night of Circus Vazquez Opening Night at Quakerbridge Mall. Families enjoyed an evening filled with excitement, laughter, and unforgettable circus fun under the iconic blue and white tent.

A very special thank you to Circus Vazquez for generously donating tickets to our families. Your kindness created joyful memories and meaningful experiences for the children and parents we serve.

We truly appreciate your partnership and support of our community!

On Saturday, May 9th, Children’s Futures proudly hosted our annual Pre-Mother’s Day Community Baby Shower, bringing together expecting and newly parenting families for an afternoon filled with support, resources, laughter, and love.

We were excited to welcome an estimated 19 pregnant women, along with families from across the community, to enjoy healthy food, games, giveaways, and valuable information to support healthy pregnancies and strong families.

A huge thank you to the incredible Children’s Futures staff for their hard work, dedication, and heart in making this event such a success. From setup to engagement with families, our team truly showed what community support looks like. We are also grateful to everyone who attended and helped create such a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

We’re excited to share the successful launch of the Trusted Connections Advisory Council. This is a space designed to center the voices, experiences, and expertise of family child care educators, co-facilitated by our Network Director and Network Family Child Care Educator.

The conversation was thoughtful, honest, and centered on real experiences. From discussions on sustainability and systems alignment to the everyday realities of the work, it was clear that educators are not only navigating complex challenges; they are also leading with insight, innovation, and deep commitment to children and families.

We’re especially grateful to our partners and funders for joining us, and for helping to create a space where candid dialogue could take place. Special thanks to those who helped frame the conversation around policy, advocacy, and systems-level impact, and to our co-facilitators for setting a welcoming and engaging tone throughout the evening.

Most importantly, thank you to the educators who shared openly. Your voices are at the center of this work, and that was felt in every part of the conversation.

This is just the beginning. We’re looking forward to continuing this work together.

Children’s Futures proudly hosted its annual Maternal Health Awareness Week 5K Walk on Friday, April 17, 2026.

The purpose of this event was to walk through the Trenton community to raise awareness of maternal health and connect residents to vital resources available right in their neighborhoods. Along the route, participants highlighted key services, including Children’s Futures programs, Capital Health System’s prenatal clinic, Trenton’s new birthing center, and New Jersey Maternal Infant Health Innovation Authority.

As we celebrate 25 years of improving child health and development outcomes across Mercer and Burlington counties, we remain committed to supporting families through our doula, case management, and fatherhood programs.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Dynell Kellyman, Chief Operating Officer of Children’s Futures, for her leadership, as well as Dan Benson, Mercer County Executive, Maria Del Cid-Koss, Director of External Affairs and Policy at NJMIHIA, our dedicated staff, and all participants who helped make this event a success on such a beautiful day.

Together, we continue to raise awareness and build healthier families and stronger communities.

The Children's Futures Fatherhood Program, through its D.A.P. initiative, proudly hosted Daddy's Picture Day, a heartwarming event designed to celebrate and support fathers and their families who are in the program, especially those facing challenges in accessing resources. This special day offered an opportunity for over 40 participants to capture cherished moments with their children through professional photos, creating lasting memories that uplift the spirit and strengthen family bonds. Alongside the photo session, attendees enjoyed a complimentary lunch, fostering a welcoming atmosphere of community and connection.

Held at the CF office in Downtown Trenton, Daddy's Picture Day exemplified the program’s commitment to meeting fathers where they are, providing practical support and encouragement in meaningful ways. The event’s success has inspired the Fatherhood Program to establish this celebration as an annual tradition, reinforcing its mission to empower dads through resources that truly make a difference in their lives. By honoring the vital role fathers play, the program builds a foundation of hope and resilience for families, nurturing brighter futures for children and their dads alike. This event was more than just pictures; it was a powerful reminder that every father deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated.

April is Autism Awareness Month

At the heart of strong communities are children and families who feel seen, supported, and valued. This month, we recognize the importance of early support, accessible resources, and inclusive environments for children on the autism spectrum and their families.

Together, we can create a future where every child has the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive, just as they are.
