National Police Week/Peace Officer Memorial Day

During National Police Week, May 10-16, and National Peace Officer Memorial Day, Friday, May 15, 2026, the Trenton Police Department honors the courage, sacrifice, and service of law enforcement officers who gave their lives in the line of duty. We remember the fallen, support their families, and thank all officers who continue to serve and protect our community every day. Two of our officers participated in the Police Unity Tour which is a 300 mile bike ride from New Jersey into Washington D.C., ending at the steps of the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial. They partnered with officers from Taylor and Southgate and rode in honor of Patrolman Robert Pare who was killed in the line of duty on Feb 9, 1968.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of one of our long-time crossing guards, Bruce Bohr. Bruce served the citizens and students of Trenton for the past 12 years as a crossing guard, mostly in the Anderson Elementary School area. Bruce was there every morning and afternoon to help students and families as they made their way to and from school. He will truly be missed.

Bruce's funeral arrangements can be found in the Martenson link below.

View Bruce E. Bohr's obituary, send flowers, find service dates, and sign the guestbook.

Trenton, Michigan Department of Public Works will be working on the right lane of eastbound West Rd, right in front of George's Restaurant and Beverage Express. They are repairing the concrete and expect to have the lane open within 3 days.

This will cause traffic congestion in the area with the left lane being closed at the viaduct. Please use caution and drive safely.

Questions regarding the viaduct project can be forwarded to Wayne County Roads.
