🎒 Welcome back to school, Tremonton City and surrounding communities!📚

As a new school year begins, we want to help make sure every kid gets to school safely, stays safe while they're there, and makes it home safely at the end of the day.

Over the next week, our Tremonton City Fire and Police Departments will be sharing important back-to-school safety tips and reminders for both kids and parents.🚒👮

👨‍👩Parents, please watch for these videos and share them with your kids! Take a few minutes to talk through these safety reminders together—it could make a big difference.

Our latest Mayor’s Connection Report is here! This issue gives you a look at what your City Council has been working on, what’s coming next, and how we’re planning for Tremonton’s future.

🔹 Planning for Growth — Council discussed infrastructure needs and a new plan to help prepare Tremonton for the growth ahead.

🔹 The Connection Plan — 15 goals are being developed into measurable steps for our city, including parks, communication, infrastructure, economic development, public safety, and more.

🔹 Public Safety — Council discussed current staffing challenges and upcoming requests for additional Fire and Public Works positions.

💧 **WATER SERVICE HAS BEEN RESTORED!** 🎉

Good news, Tremonton! The water main has been repaired, and **water service is back on** for the affected area.

A big thank-you to our Public Works crews for working quickly to get everything repaired and restored! 👏

We also appreciate everyone’s **patience and understanding** while crews worked to fix the issue.

🚨 **WATER SERVICE UPDATE – AUGUST 31**

Tremonton residents, please be aware that **water service is currently shut off from 1600 E. to 300 E.** after a vehicle struck a water main.

💧 At this time, we **do not have an estimated time for water service to be restored.** Our Public Works crews are working hard to repair the water main and restore service as quickly as possible.

We understand that a water outage can be an inconvenience, and we appreciate your **patience and understanding** while our crews work to resolve the issue.

We will provide additional updates as more information becomes available.

We know there are a lot of questions about secondary water and why it’s important for our community. So, let’s clear up a few common questions!
City Works Director, Carl Mackley, and Assistant City Works Director, Andrew Beech, are here to talk about it.

💧 SECONDARY WATER: YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

❓ Why is secondary water important?
Secondary water allows us to use untreated water for things like watering lawns, gardens, and landscaping instead of using treated culinary water. This helps save our drinking water for the things we actually need it for—like drinking, cooking, and bathing.

❓ Why does Tremonton want more residents using secondary water?
As our community grows, so does our demand for water. Using secondary water for irrigation can reduce the amount of treated water we use and help take pressure off our culinary water system.

❓ “But isn’t secondary water more expensive?”
This is something we hear from residents, and it’s an important question! While there is a cost associated with secondary water, the cost of providing and treating culinary water is also significant.Using treated drinking water to irrigate lawns and landscaping isn't the most efficient use of that resource.

Secondary water gives us another option for meeting our outdoor watering needs while helping us preserve our treated water supply for essential uses.

❓ Does using secondary water benefit me as a homeowner?
It can! Secondary water is designed specifically for outdoor irrigation, meaning you aren't using treated drinking water to keep your lawn and landscaping green. It also helps our community make better use of our available water resources.

❓ Why does this matter for Tremonton’s future?
Tremonton is growing, and planning for our future water needs is important. The more we can use the right type of water for the right purpose, the better positioned we are to provide a reliable water supply for our community.

💧Secondary water isn't just about what we use today—it’s about planning responsibly for the future of Tremonton.
