Big thanks to LaSalle County EMA for hosting Saturday's multi-county SARx!

SAR teams from LaSalle, McLean, Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford counties all came out for a day of shared learning, teamwork, and collaboration at Catlin Park in Ottawa. Trainings like this help strengthen the skills and build the cross-team relationships that matter most in a real-life situation.

Tuesday night was "man tracking" training for the SAR team. Got to see examples of the types of tracks made by a variety of activities and practice finding them in both dirt and grass. 👣🔎 Great training tonight!

It was a beautiful evening for a walk! Tonight, our Search and Rescue ground searchers completed the annual "fit test" which is a 2-mile walk with packs on. Everyone crossed the finish line in good time!

We had fantastic weather and a great turnout for a SAR training exercise at Sommer Farm yesterday, hosted by the Peoria County Sheriff's Office. SAR teams from LaSalle, McLean, Peoria, Tazewell, and Woodford counties and members from the Dunlap Fire Department came out to participate in a mock search.

This exercise mimicked a real-world missing person scenario, involving search management, ground and drone searches, and Fire/EMS activities, giving teams the opportunity to practice a variety of tactics to locate and rescue "Freddie", the missing mannequin.

It was a great day of hands-on learning and skills improvement. Big thanks to the Peoria County Sheriff's Office for hosting!

We had a great multi-county SAR training yesterday, hosted by McLean County Emergency Management Agency. Our day started in the classroom, focusing on team leadership and ground search tactics, followed by field exercises at Funk's Grove Nature Preserve to practice what we learned.

Huge thanks to all who came together to make this training possible and to everyone who came out and participated. We're always learning and working to improve our skills!

Our day today started out in Peoria County for our multi-county training. Then we had to quickly shift gears into deployment mode for a mutual aid deployment 2 counties away. Thank you to all who came out for the training which quickly turned into a real deployment!
