Starting Monday June 15th, our River East Recreation Area will be closed to the public until further notice so that we can continue with great improvements, which include ADA Accessibility, expanded paved parking lot, sidewalks, and site work for a year-round bathroom facility. We expect the bathroom to be constructed later this summer.
The closure ensures safety for the public, contractors and will allow for the work to be completed in a timely manner. Our goal is to have the park reopened early July, providing there are no setbacks with the construction process.
Included is a rendering of what the recreation area will look like in the future when all phases are completed. The next phase tentatively scheduled for 2027 includes: Paved walking trail, rustic trail improvements, pavilion, landscaping, irrigation and other small amenities. River East Recreation Area is located off Keystone Road just north of the Hammond Road intersection.
We appreciate your patience and feel that the slight inconvenience and wait will be worth it in the end.
