Do you need more information on lithium ion battery safety?
We still have several handouts and safety materials left over from our open house.
If you would like some, please reach out to us to set up a time to pick that up.
We have brochures, posters, pencils, work books, and stickers.
FIRE PREVENTION WEEK 2026 — CHARGE INTO FIRE SAFETY!
Lithium-ion batteries power many of the devices we use every day—from cell phones and laptops to e-bikes, power tools, and other electronics. When damaged, improperly charged, or overheated, these batteries can pose a serious fire risk.
During Fire Prevention Week 2026, remember:
Use only the charger designed for your device.
Charge batteries on a hard, non-combustible surface—not on a bed or couch.
Keep charging devices away from anything that can burn.
Never use a battery that is swollen, leaking, damaged, or unusually hot.
Avoid exposing batteries to extreme heat or cold.
Keep lithium-ion batteries out of the trash and recycle them properly.
Never leave charging batteries unattended.
A few simple habits can help prevent a battery fire and protect your home and family.
Charge it right. Use it right. Stay fire safe!
