The Housing Choice Voucher waitlist has officially CLOSED. No further applications will be accepted at this time.

Thank you to everyone that submitted an application! You will receive a letter in the mail after the first of the year (January 2025) letting you know your placement on the waitlist. We estimate that we received several hundred applications and it will take time to process them and enter them in. Please do not contact TCHC looking to see your placement, you will find that out when you receive your letter.

Frequently asked questions:

1. If I am on the HCV waitlist, when can I expect to receive a top list letter?

An applicant may remain on the waitlist for up to 5 years before their name is selected. The average time on the list is traditionally about 1-3 years.

2. How will I be notified when my name has reached the top of the list?

An applicant will be notified by U.S. Mail when they have reached the top of the list. TCHC never uses phone calls, texts, or emails to contact applicants. It is really important that we always have a current address on file to reach you at, or you may risk not receiving the top list letter when it is your time. Address changes are the applicants responsibility, and must be submitted to TCHC in writing.

3. If I receive a top list letter, what is the next step?

The next step is to see if you qualify for the Voucher by going through an intake process. Your top list letter will give you details regarding that when you receive it.

4. I did not get a chance to apply. When will TCHC be opening the HCV waitlist again?

Our HCV waitlist is traditionally opened every 2-3 years for a 4-6 week period to submit the applications.

5. What other programs can I apply to at TCHC while I am waiting for my voucher?

TCHC owns and operates a 3 and 4 bedroom Public Housing property called Orchardview that has a wait list that is always open. Applicants MUST be families with 2 or more children and must meet income criteria. The average waitlist time for that property is about 2-3 years. Further information and an application can be found on our website under the Programs and Properties tab.
