Elmwood Township Fire Department

Elmwood Township Fire Department Elmwood Twp Fire & Rescue provides public service, public education, fire suppression, protection, and EMS to the residents and guests of Elmwood Township.

EFD has 12 firefighters, in which all 12 have EMT-Basic licenses or higher, for medical emergencies. Our department has multiple emergency vehicles, which include 1 Basic Life Support ambulance, 2 fire engines, 2 tankers, a brush truck, a boat, and a water-equipped ATV for wildland fire suppression and rescue. We serve the residents of Elmwood Township, and are fully staffed by 3 Firefighter/EMTs

24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have an additional staff member during our office hours from 8am-6pm five days a week. Keith Tampa, Fire Chief

Thank you to everyone for being mindful during our training. The training went swimmingly, everyone was safe and enjoyed the weekend. This week our shifts will be out on the ice again. There are 3 holes cut in the ice at the cedar lake boat launch and 3 holes cut off of the Pathfinder beach. All of the holes are marked with cones, please stay away from the holes and be safe.

Training notice for public reference: our fire department along with a few others will be participating in an ice rescue training class on Cedar Lake off of the boat launch. Class will take place all day Saturday 1/10 and in the afternoon into the evening Sunday 1/11. In addition, next week our firefighters will be training with their shifts for ice rescue in the same location. We currently have 3 large holes cut in the ice that are well marked for these trainings. So please exercise caution in that area, thank you.
