Imagine This…

A family struggling to stay together.
An employee overwhelmed by stress and burnout.
A young person needing guidance to make healthier choices.
A loved one surviving an overdose.

Now imagine having one place in your community where compassion, resources, and support come together.

That’s the heart of Catholic Human Services — supporting real people through real challenges.

The 3rd Annual Harm Reduction Conference was successfully held on May 19, 2026, at the Revival Center in Cadillac, Michigan, bringing together a diverse group of professionals, community members, and stakeholders committed to advancing harm reduction practices and substance use education.

The event provided a collaborative space for learning, reflection, and engagement, with presentations and discussions focused on harm reduction principles, evolving drug trends including xylazine, drug checking strategies, street medicine, and supportive approaches to substance use and recovery. Additional sessions highlighted lived experience in recovery, substance use during pregnancy, and shifting perspectives on drug use treatment, including the keynote address, “Beyond Judgment: Shifting Perspectives on Drug Use and Treatment.”

The conference also offered valuable resource sharing opportunities through community partner tables, as well as access to continuing education credits, further supporting professional development among attendees. Free meals and warmline resources contributed to a welcoming and accessible environment for all participants.

Overall, the conference achieved its purpose of strengthening community collaboration, expanding knowledge of evidence-based harm reduction strategies, and promoting compassionate, person-centered approaches to substance use. Appreciation is extended to all speakers, organizers, sponsors, and attendees whose participation and support contributed to the success of this meaningful event.
