If you are caring for someone living with Parkinson’s, you do not have to do it alone.

Our partners at the Michigan Parkinson Foundation are hosting a caregiver support group led by Candice Peggs, LMSW. This event offers an opportunity to connect with others who understand the caregiving journey, explore tools for emotional support and resilience, and practice self-compassion in a caring and supportive environment.

If you or someone you know could benefit from this resource, learn more and register here:https://secure.qgiv.com/for/copingasacaregiver/event/mpf/

Please help us share this opportunity with caregivers in our community.

👉 Hey Ann: What is the difference between assisted living and skilled nursing?

In the second installment of our Hey Ann series, she is breaking down one of the most common questions families ask when exploring senior living options.

“Assisted living supports daily routines such as dressing, meals, and medications, while skilled nursing provides ongoing medical care and rehabilitation support.”

Understanding the difference can help families feel more confident as they begin exploring next steps.

We had an exciting morning in childcare as our baby chicks started hatching in the incubator! 🐣🐥

A big thank you to one of our childcare assistants, Erica, for bringing in the incubator and eggs for the children to experience. The kids have loved checking on them each day and were very excited to see the chicks hatch.

We are now taking name suggestions!

Today, we pause to remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country.

At Grand Traverse Pavilions, we are grateful for the veterans, families, and loved ones within our community whose sacrifices continue to shape the freedoms we enjoy each day.

This Memorial Day, we reflect with gratitude, remembrance, and respect.

The flowers are beginning to bloom, the fountain is flowing again, and our grounds are coming back to life after a long northern Michigan winter.

As families visit this weekend, we want to welcome you and also share that over the next several weeks you will notice a lot of activity around our courtyards, gardens, and outdoor spaces as we continue sprucing things up for the season ahead.

Our teams are excited to spend the coming weeks planting, refreshing, and bringing new life to the outdoor spaces that mean so much to our residents, families, staff, and visitors. We are looking forward to another beautiful summer on our campus.

The ability to communicate and connect with others is something many of us take for granted.

This Better Speech and Hearing Month, we are celebrating the Speech Language Pathologists who help people strengthen communication, cognition, swallowing, and hearing every day.

At the Grand Traverse Pavilions Wellness Center, we are proud to provide compassionate care that helps people stay connected to the moments and people that matter most.

We can help. Give us a call at (231) 932-3172 to get started.

We are excited to introduce Hey Ann 💚 In this new series, Ann McMann, Residential Services Director at Grand Traverse Pavilions, will answer common questions about senior living, wellness, rehabilitation, and support services.

👉 Hey Ann: When is it time to start looking at senior living options?

"Many families begin researching after a change in health, mobility, or daily routines. Others simply want to understand options before a decision becomes urgent.

Starting early allows more time to explore what feels like the right fit."

Follow along each week for helpful insights and conversations around independence, wellness, and quality of life.
