Yesterday was a busy day for the TFD.

The on duty crew conducted live fire training with Edinburgh Fire on an acquired structure near US31 & 800 South.

Car6 and the standby crew of volunteers assisted at the ICMS 8th grades last day of school celebration by filling a dunk tank.

After the live fire training crews met with US Congressman Jefferson Shreve at Trafalgar Town Hall to discuss the importance of water flow, water availability and how that relates to mitigating working fires within the TFD’s 1st due.

The town of Trafalgar is currently trying to secure just over 1 million dollars in grant funding that will substantially increase the rate at which the water tower will fill and the amount of water available.

🚨 TFD Update 🚨

It’s been another busy week for the TFD. This week the Fire Department Instructors Conference (FDIC) was in town.

FDIC is one of the largest fire and EMS conferences in the world, bringing in tens of thousands of firefighters, medics, and instructors from across the country—and even internationally. It’s not just a convention, it’s a full week of hands-on training, classroom education, and real-world skill building.

PumperTanker61 was detailed to help assist with a rural water supply class on Monday and Tuesday of this week allowing our members to seek an opportunity to learn and bring knowledge back to our department!
