CERT,

The traffic control training for tomorrow night (May 27th,2015) has been canceled. We only had four people confirm their attendance. I spoke with Tracy PD and per their request we will attempt to provide the training once more after the summer months have past. Thanks.

CERT,

If you plan on attending the traffic control training on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 @ 1830 in the EOC at the Tracy Police Department please send me an email to confirm your attendance. I must turn in a list to Tracy PD by the 25th as to who will be in attendance, in order to streamline building access that night. Thanks.

CERT,

We have been invited to participate in the Tracy PD safety fair once again this year.

*The fair will take place at the Police Department on Saturday, May 9th, 2015, from 12pm – 4:00pm.

If you are interested in helping set up, tear down, or staffing the booth please contact Michael Dugan via his email at [email protected]. This is an excellent opportunity to recruit more CERT members and educate the rest of the community just what it is that we are capable of doing.

Thanks.

CERT,

I am not sure if you are aware of the current situation in Mountain House but I wanted to spend a few moments bringing everyone up to speed. The contract for fire protection services out in the Mountain House area has gone out to bid. The Tracy Fire Department and French Camp Fire Department have both put in bids to provide fire protection. The Mountain House Community Services District Board has a tough choice on their hands. One choice is to solely go for the lower bid, saving them money which was put in by the French Camp Fire Department, or to go with our Tracy Fire Department bid which is a higher cost but as an organization feels that it provides a much more superior service. For all of you Mountain House CERT members that love being a part of the team, it would be great if you had the ability to show up on February 11th at 7pm to show your support for not only being apart of our wonderful CERT program but believing in the organization that feels compelled to risk everything to protect it's communities in which we serve. Each Fire department is being allowed to share a 20 minute presentation to the CSD board before they make their final decision that night. I believe our departments goal is to not talk numbers or who can bring more personnel to the fire, who has more qualified personnel to provide services, but more so about the relationships we have already built up in the community and continue to build with each one of you! I personally feel that if not awarded the contract to provide services it would be a huge loss to our fire department and to the Mountain House community as well.. I am not trying to bully anyone, but I believe the CERT program in Mountain House would be obsolete if we don't get selected. The French Camp Fire Department does not have a CERT program. The address of the CSD building is 230 Sterling Drive, Mountain House, CA 95391. Feel free to wear your CERT shirts if you attend. Thanks for the support!

CERT,

I have been approached by our San Joaquin County American Red Cross Disaster Action Team Coordinator. The Red Cross is currently searching to have people trained for a specialized DAT team. The team would respond to the Tracy and surrounding areas for victims of fire and or displacement type emergencies such as floods. Their program is already functioning nation wide and is currently functioning in the City of Stockton and Lodi but they have never been successful at establishing a team in Tracy. The training if interested in becoming part of this team would be held at fire admin and a later date and time to be announced. It is 4 hours long. By no means am I trying to send any of my great CERT volunteers in other directions, but I just wanted to pass this information along. If you are interested in this type of training and assignment then please send an email to the Disaster Action Team Coordinator below.

Thanks,

Brian

CERT,

Unfortunately we will not be able to support the fire department in canteen services this week at their live fire training located at the Tracy airport. I had only heard back from three people. Those people were; Keri Dowell, Susan Johnson, and Mary Olivarez. That's just not enough to pull it off, hopefully we will be able to fulfill this task next time...

CERT,

We have a training on October 24th from 1730 to 1930 hours at fire Station 91. The address is 1701 W. 11th St. Tracy CA, 95376. This is VERY important training you don't want to miss. We will be having a representative from the San Joaquin County Public Health Agency coming to show us how to set up the mass vaccination trailer. Only those who make this training will be able to assist in the drill on October 29th at 0830 hours at the Portuguese Hall. This is our chance to show a rather large department within our County that we are capable of accomplishing this task. Please come to the training and drill to show the San Joaquin County Health that our CERT team is ready for any task at hand!! I hope all is well, take care. Please e-mail me if your able to attend the training and drill so that I may keep track of our number of participants.

CERT,

Please save the date, October 29th (0830-1530 hours). We have been asked to provide our services setting up and tearing down the mass vaccination trailer for San Joaquin County Health Services that day. The trailer is stored year round at Station 91 on 11th street and fire department personnel that day will be relocating the trailer to and from the Portuguese Hall for the drill. This is a County wide drill so I am sure there will be more key players involved. It has been more than two years since we have done a drill like this, so I have requested that we have some refresher training prior to the event. I will be sending the refresher date training date out to everyone when it gets confirmed. It will be soon....Thanks for your continued efforts in making our community a safer place to live, work, and play.
