The Baltimore County Volunteer Center is hosting an upcoming volunteer fair in District 7!

The fair is ideal for students to find opportunities to get their service-learning hours, for people who are retired and looking to give back, or those of any age who want to strengthen their community. You will be able to connect with non-profits in the Greater Baltimore Region and explore ways that YOU can make a difference in the community

Please distribute this flyer to those that you think would be interested! For questions, contact 410-887-2715 or [email protected].

On Friday 3/6/26, I was invited to attend the World Famous Fish Fry at the Dundalk Council #2942 Knights of Columbus. For a Friday afternoon at lunch time, business was booming! Thank you to Ryan McGrath for inviting me and I enjoyed meeting everyone!

I am always struck by how kind and friendly people are in this community and this event was certainly no exception!

The Fish Fry is every Friday of Lent from 12-7, so you have a few more opportunities to get there. Don’t miss out!

And, while not pictured here (because my hands were full of goodies), don’t miss the bake sale table!!! So many things to choose from!

Public Art on Baltimore County Roadways, brought to you by Baltimore County Department of Planning! Apply now and please reach out to me if you are approved! I would love to see this in action.

🚧We heard you! After years of expressed interest and advocacy from residents wanting to implement creative, community-driven approaches to addressing roadway safety concerns, the Department of Planning has helped usher in a new policy that now enables the creation of public art on roadways within Commercial Revitalization Districts (CRDs).

The Public Art on Baltimore County Roadways policy provides clear guidelines and establishes a process for creating community-led asphalt art projects in bump-outs and shoulders located on county-owned roadways.

Interested community groups can apply now! https://www.baltimorecountymd.gov/departments/planning/asphalt-art-projects

On Friday 3/6/26, I had the honor of representing the County Executive’s Office at the ribbon cutting for Sandalwood Elementary School’s brand new book vending machine! Through a partnership with Baltimore Community Foundation and the Essex CDC, the Librarian and Community School Facilitator were able to bring this amazing resource to their students. It was a pleasure to present a citation from the County Executive to the school and its students.

Clean Up at the Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant in District 7 was a huge success. So many folks braved the elements to come out today. Service learning hours were earned, hundreds of pounds of trash removed, and lots of smiles, laughter, and camaraderie. What was noticeably missing was any smell at all! 🚫💩

If you have never had the opportunity to work with the Maryland Waterways Foundation, you are missing an amazing opportunity to give back to the community. Your next chance is April 6th…more details to come!
