Holt Park & Center for the Arts just released the Call to Artists for our new summer arts festival, ArtFusion!
✨ Submissions are due Friday, July 3.

✨ Introducing ArtFusion, a new festival at Holt Park and Center for the Arts this summer!
We’ll share more about the festival soon, but today we’re excited to open our Call to Artists for the 2026 juried exhibition: Earth, Moon, and Stars.
We're seeking artists working in any medium—2D, 3D, installation, outdoor pieces, conceptual, realistic, abstract, or anywhere in between.
✨ Submission deadline: July 3 at 11:59 p.m. to [email protected]
✨ Acceptance notices are sent on July 22
✨ Art is delivered by August 21
✨ Save the date! The exhibition opens on August 29

Heat Safety Notice:

Due to today’s extreme heat, Baltimore County Recreation and Parks is following its Heat Policy (link below) and will continue to monitor outdoor conditions throughout the day.

Outdoor programs, activities, and permits may be modified, moved indoors, delayed, or canceled based on the heat index, activity type, location, access to shade and water, and overall safety conditions.

Permit holders should cancel outdoor activities when the heat index exceeds 103°F. This includes outdoor fields, courts, pavilions, and other outdoor permitted spaces.

Participants, families, coaches, volunteers, and permit holders are encouraged to use good judgment, stay hydrated, take frequent breaks, limit strenuous outdoor activity, and watch for signs of heat-related illness.

The safety of our participants, staff, volunteers, officials, and community members is our top priority. When conditions are unsafe, BCRP will make decisions that prioritize safety.

Please welcome our summer seasonal colleagues! They join our year-round team to make summer camps, beaches, and activities possible in Baltimore County.

Summer seasonal naturalists are in training this week with our year-round naturalist crew. Today's training included a presentation from Ranger Anne at Cromwell Valley Park about engaging activities for young children. Next week, each seasonal naturalist will present a capstone project to their colleagues.
