🚨🚧Traffic Advisory - Ridgewood Blvd North - September 15, 2026🚧🚨

Please be advised that gas main construction work will be taking place along Ridgewood Boulevard North starting today. Work is expected to last for approxmately two weeks (weather permitting). Construction equipment, machinery, and materials will be staged in the immediate area throughout the project. All residents will continue to have full access in and out of their driveways without issue during construction.

Please use caution, maintain low speeds, and stay alert for construction crews on the roadway.

As always, we will post updates on our social media platforms in real time.

🚨 FLOODING ADVISORY – PLEASE STAY HOME 🚨

Multiple roads throughout the Township are currently experiencing significant flooding.

Parts of Pascack Road are completely impassable and have been CLOSED. Additional road closures and hazardous conditions may occur.

For your safety, please stay home and avoid traveling unless absolutely necessary. Do not attempt to drive through flooded roadways. Turn around—don’t drown. Conditions can change rapidly. Please allow emergency crews and first responders the space they need to safely respond to incidents.

If you do not need to be on the road, please stay home.

Today we will remember and honor the lives of those who perished in the 9/11 terrorist attacks 25 years ago. Nearly 3,000 people lost their lives in the attacks, including 343 fire fighters, 60 police officers and 8 EMTs/paramedics. Several first responders have since died as a result of 9/11 related illnesses.

These brave souls sacrificed everything for something they believed in. We must do our part and never forget

The Washington Township Police Department is encouraging all residents to stay weather-aware as strong storms are expected to move through our area today. Heavy rain, damaging wind gusts, frequent lightning, and localized flooding are all possible.

Please take a few moments to prepare:

• Secure outdoor furniture, umbrellas, and other loose items.
• Charge your cell phones and other important electronic devices.
• Avoid unnecessary travel during periods of heavy rain or severe weather.
• Never drive through flooded roadways—Turn Around, Don’t Drown.
• If thunder roars, head indoors and stay away from windows.

Canadian wildfire smoke has been once again brought into the area causing an odor of smoke and hazy skies throughout the Township and most of New Jersey.
If you believe there is a fire, do not hesitate to call 911.
The odor of smoke will remain through Friday.
