đźš‘ WRHS DUI Simulation đźš’

Yesterday, members of WTVAC participated in Westwood High School’s DUl crash simulation program ahead of prom night.
This realistic demonstration gave students a firsthand look at the devastating consequences of impaired driving and the coordinated emergency response that follows a serious motor vehicle crash.
We were proud to work alongside the Westwood Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Westwood Fire Department, Township of Washington Fire Department, Westwood Police Department, and Township of Washington Police Department to help deliver this important message.
Thank you to everyone involved in making this educational program possible. We hope it encourages students to make safe and responsible decisions behind the wheel.
We hope everyone had a fun, memorable, and safe prom night.
Congratulations to the Class of 2026, and remember: drive sober, stay focused, and make it home safely.

It is with deep regret that we learned of the passing of Life Member Beatrice (Bea) Napier. Bea passed away peacefully at home.
She lived a full and remarkable 88 years, with the Corps remaining an integral part of her family life and her children’s early exposure to service to others.
Bea joined the Corps on November 11, 1974, and served with great distinction, completing an all-time record 6,934 calls.
Bea was, without doubt, the Matriarch of WTVAC. She was an ever-present voice of professionalism, common sense, and calm authority — a steady moderating force who kept everyone on their toes. She was well known and deeply respected by the Police, Fire Department, DPW, Mayors, Council members, and all those who served the town.
In addition to her decades of dedicated service, Bea touched the lives of thousands of people.
Bea passed peacefully with her family by her side. May you Rest In Peace, Bea

Yesterday, WTVAC EMTs welcomed the Emerson Boy Scouts for a tour of Ambulance 46 and a hands on first aid lesson. Scouts learned how to control bleeding and how to treat common medical emergencies. They also had the opportunity to build their own first aid kits to take home.

Thank you to the Emerson Boy Scouts for stopping by! We hope to see some future EMTs in the group!

WTVAC is proud to support Westwood Regional High School’s participation in CPR & AED Awareness Week and help promote lifesaving education throughout our community.

Early CPR and AED use can make a major difference during a cardiac emergency. Learning these skills helps prepare students and community members to recognize an emergency and take action when seconds matter.

Everyone is encouraged to participate in the American Heart Challenge — a fully online program where participants can learn Hands-Only CPR, and complete Finn’s Mission.

Participants can earn up to 8 service learning hours, and eligible Westwood Regional High School seniors can apply for a $1,000 American Heart Association scholarship after completing the challenge.

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. 🇺🇸---

Yesterday, members of the Washington Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps provided EMS standby coverage for the annual 5K and Health Fair. Crews were positioned throughout the course and event area to ensure the safety of all participants, spectators, and staff, remaining ready to respond at a moment’s notice if needed.

We would also like to thank our mutual aid partners at for covering emergency calls in town while our crews were assigned to the event. Your support and partnership are greatly appreciated.

WTVAC’s weekend crews wrapped up with a transport to Valley Hospital. It was a relatively slow shift, with the day crew handling two calls in town. We hope no one ever needs our services, but we’re always ready when the call comes in. Thank you to our dedicated volunteers for keeping the ambulance in service this weekend! 🚑

It is with deep regret that we say goodbye to our fellow Ambulance Corps member, Patrick “Pat” McGlone, who passed away on Friday, April 10th, 2026, at the age of 96.
Our deepest regrets and prayers go out to his wife, Bridget, and family.

Pat was a dedicated Life member of the Washington Township Volunteer Ambulance Corps for over 50 years where he served as President and Secretary in addition to many other contributions over the years.

He remained as active as his health would allow right up until the end. On March 27th, just two weeks ago, Pat and his wife, Bridget, who was also a member, attended our 2026 Installation Dinner, where they received a well-deserved standing ovation for their many contributions to the Corps.

Pat lived a long and good life and remained relatively healthy until the very end. Pat was a good man. At 96 years old, he truly had a great run — a real win in life.

The emergency service building is lit in Pats honor

Rest in peace Pat . We will all miss your generosity of spirit and mischievous humor.
