With blizzard and white out conditions from the silo bar area up through Winston to Lewis and Clark County we strongly advise no travel unless absolutely necessary. We just got back from a multiple slide offs in the area fortunately no one had severe injuries please be safe out there

Last night we had are second structure fire of the year. Everyone that lives at this house was out of the house when it started and they are safe. The Red Cross was also notified to help them find temporary living. I would like to thank the dispatchers for a speedy page out and all the law enforcement that helped hookup the hydrant to helping drag hose. And the ambulance for being on standby and helping with fire fighter rehab and lastly I would like to thank the response from Broadwater rural fire

Broadwater County Rural and Townsend City Fire Departments are seeking individuals to join our team. There will be an informational meeting held after our monthly business meeting at 7 pm Thursday 2/1/24 at the Townsend Fire Station at 130 South Cedar St. Call Ed with any questions at 406 949 5535.

There is a Mudd slide up deep creek canyon please avoid. Travel in that area until it has been cleaned up. We will continue to monitor this situation and update when we can.
