Here are five facts:

▶ The cost of operating schools is rising faster than funding growth, creating a projected $75 million funding gap over the next 10 years.
▶ Missouri’s Hancock Amendment requires Parkway to roll back its tax rate. In addition, due to the senior tax freeze, Parkway is projected to lose ~$30 million in projected funding over the next decade.
▶ The district made reductions while minimizing the impact on students and classrooms.
▶ Prop P would provide funding for teachers and staff, school safety, classroom resources, and student programs and services. If approved, the estimated increase for a $400,000 home is approximately $7/week.
▶ This is the first time in 20 years that Parkway has placed an operating tax increase on the ballot. Even with Prop P, Parkway’s tax rate would remain lower than it was in 2016.

🌿 Introducing BioBlitz! 🔎

Last week, our 5th graders kicked off an exciting new program called BioBlitz! Through this hands-on, real-world science experience, our 5th-grade students took the lead as teachers, guiding students from various grade levels along our outdoor nature trail.

They explored the ecosystems right in our own school’s backyard and shared their knowledge of the natural world with their younger peers. Our 5th graders did a fantastic job leading the activities, teaching others, and bringing science to life!

No excuse, in-person absentee voting is now open.

Voters will decide on Proposition P, the district’s proposed 46-cent operating tax levy. For the owner of a $400,000 home, the estimated increase would be approximately $7 a week.

Parkway has not asked for an operating tax increase in 20 years, and our tax rate remains among the lowest operating tax rates of all St. Louis County school districts.
