2027 George McKibben Memorial Scholarship Applications Are Open!
The Association of Illinois Soil and Water Conservation Districts (AISWCD) and the AISWCD Foundation are proud to offer the George McKibben Memorial Scholarship, supporting the next generation of agricultural and conservation leaders in Illinois.
This $1,500 scholarship honors the legacy of George McKibben, a University of Illinois agronomist whose pioneering work helped establish no-till farming as a successful and widely adopted conservation practice.
Who is eligible?
Illinois high school seniors planning to pursue an agriculture degree and current full-time agriculture students attending an eligible Illinois state university may apply. Applicants must have a minimum 3.2 GPA on a 4.0 scale or 4.0 on a 5.0 scale.
We are looking for students who demonstrate:
โข Strong academic achievement
โข A commitment to soil and water conservation
โข Leadership and innovation potential
โข Involvement in their school and community
- Scholarship Award: $1,500
- Application Deadline: May 15, 2027

Students may be nominated by their local Soil & Water Conservation District or self-nominate.
