🚨 HELP US HELP YOU: Clear Your Fire Hydrants! 🚒❄️
A fire in your home can double in size in as little as 30 seconds. When a hydrant is buried, firefighters waste critical time finding and digging it out. You can save lives by adopting a hydrant near your home or business.
How to Help:
Clear a 3-Foot Radius: Use a shovel to remove snow/ice at least 3 feet around all sides of the hydrant.
Create a Pathway: Clear a path from the hydrant to the street.
Keep It Visible: Ensure the entire unit is visible from the road.
Do Not Pile Snow: Do not pile snow on or over the hydrant while clearing your driveway or sidewalk.
Why It Matters:
Every Second Counts: A cleared hydrant allows immediate access to water.
Protect Your Property: A few minutes of shoveling can prevent a minor fire from becoming a total loss.
Be a Hydrant Hero: If you are physically able, please help neighbors who may not be able to clear their own hydrants.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to community safety!
