*updated* Thank you to Rodger & Dena at The Store bar and grill!

Last weekend, the poles displaying our American flag and military branch flags were destroyed by vandalism. We immediately began looking into ordering replacements.

Before we could, The Store Bar & Grill generously stepped up and purchased and donated all 12 new poles. Just one week later, our flags are back up and proudly flying. 🇺🇸

A sincere thank you to The Store Bar & Grill for this incredibly generous donation and for stepping up for our community when it mattered. We are grateful for local businesses that care so much about Torrington and our community.

This evening, we had the privilege of honoring the men and women who served our country during the Vietnam War era.

It was an honor to join Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz and Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs Commissioner Ron Welch in recognizing our local veterans and thanking them for their service and sacrifice.

For many Vietnam veterans, the recognition and gratitude they deserved was far too long in coming. Torrington is grateful for you, proud of you, and honored to recognize your service.

Thank you to Five Points Art Center for hosting us this evening and helping us honor these veterans and recognize their service and sacrifice.

The article dives into our team's exceptional leadership, their dedication to public trust, and the $72 million facility upgrade that will support Torrington’s growth and protect our environment.

Over the past few weeks, my staff and I have been busy distributing 200 soccer balls donated by FIFA for the 2026 World Cup through the U.S. Conference of Mayors.

The soccer balls have gone to the NWCT YMCA, Torrington Youth Soccer, Torrington Park & Recreation soccer camp, Brooker Memorial, and Challenging Minds for Torrington children to enjoy.

It’s been a lot of fun getting these out into our community and seeing the excitement from the kids. A big thank you to FIFA and the U.S. Conference of Mayors for giving us the opportunity to share a little World Cup excitement right here in Torrington! ⚽

Last night, I joined city officials for a tour of the Five Points Arts Center on University Drive. It was incredible to see how the former UConn campus has been transformed into such a welcoming and creative space for our community.

From woodworking and ceramics to weaving, digital art, painting, and even a children’s studio, there is so much happening there.

Thank you to Judy McElhone for inviting us and showing us all that Five Points has to offer. If you haven’t had a chance to visit yet, I highly recommend checking it out!
