Last Friday, FISH held another food drive in Torrington. Once again, Stop & Shop generously allowed us to set up. This time, we were blessed to have volunteers from M&T Bank - Rosa, Ashley, Ryan, and Ben, as well as FISH helpers Mark, Holly, Sharon, and Fiona - plus Dan. We are always impressed by the generous hearts in our community.

FISH was excited to organize volunteers for a food drive in front of Stop & Shop in Torrington, in support of United Way's Stock The Shelves program, which provides groceries for food pantries in the region. This was part of the United Way Week of Caring, 2026. Thank you to our volunteers, Stop & Shop, and to everyone who contributes to our food drive! We are grateful for the generosity of our community in Northwest CT!

Hubbell Power Systems, with a branch in Winsted CT, had wonderful employees who rallied a food drive to benefit FISH as well as Salvation Army food pantry in Winsted.
We are so grateful to have such generous community partners, who we depend on to provide for our neighbors, as the cost of living soars.

Today FISH received a wonderful donation of groceries on their way to become breakfast in our shelter. Bacon, eggs, milk, bread, and more! This will be a special treat for our residents.

“The Tasteful Event” is a charity dinner for FISH (Friends In Service To Humanity of Northwestern Connecticut). FISH is an amazing non-profit organization in Torrington that provides essential services like emergency shelter, a food pantry, and support for individuals and families experiencing homelessness, with a special focus on veterans. They offer meals, case management, and resources to help people achieve independence, addressing basic needs for food, shelter, and hope.
