THANK YOU, voters of Goshen County, for passing the establishment of the Senior Citizens Service District. We so appreciate your support. We will strive to provide the best services to help our seniors age in their homes with grace and dignity. We are committed to helping in all the ways we can, and we are grateful for the blessings the people in our county provide!

The senior citizens of Goshen County are the ones who helped make this county the great place it is to live. They raised their families here, worked the land with their blood, sweat, and tears, and donated their time and talents to build all of our communities. These are the farmers, ranchers, teachers, nurses, first responders, business owners, clerks, and community members who shaped our identity. We now owe it to them to offer services that allow them to age with dignity and grace in their homes so that they can continue to be vital members of our communities. The Senior Friendship Center is the only entity in Goshen County that offers meals, transportation, resources, activities, and in-home services to our seniors. We encourage you to vote "YES" on the proposed establishment of a Senior Citizen Service District. We owe our seniors a huge debt of gratitude, and this is one way that we can say thank you!

Goshen County residents are being asked to vote on a ballot initiative to form a Senior Citizen Service District. This will help the Senior Friendship Center stabilize its funding and continue to offer services in five communities in the county --Fort Laramie, LaGrange, Lingle, Torrington, and Yoder. In 2027 alone, we will have a decrease of $70,000 in grant funding. Over the last three years, we have had to spend over $400,000 in matching funds for our grants and more than $1,000,000 in costs that our grants do not cover.
Taxpayers are being asked for two mill on assessed property value. The average homeowner with a $250,000 home would pay approximately $50.00 per year to support senior services. This funding would generate close to $500,000 for us each year and help cover those costs that our grants simply don't cover.
We hope that you will consider how much this will do for the seniors who live in Goshen County, and vote YES on the proposed Senior Citizen Service District on August 18.

We are trying to establish a Senior Service District in Goshen County to help us continue to provide services and stabilize our funding. This initiative will appear on the Primary Ballot on August 18. We are holding a series of Informational Town Hall meetings so that you can learn what this will do and ask questions! The meetings will be held at the senior centers in the following locations:

Lingle Tuesday, May 5 at 11:30
Torrington Wednesday, May 6 at 10:00 and 12:30
Yoder Thursday, May 7 at 11:30
Torrington Thursday, May 7 at 7:00 pm
LaGrange Friday, May 8 at 11:30
