ROAD CLOSURE

500-645 Stillwater Pond Rd will be closed for the next 4-6 hours.

Earlier this evening, Drakeville Engine 35 responded to the area of 635 Stillwater Pond Rd for the MVA involving a utility pole. The pole was snapped completely off its base and found laying in the road. The accident has since been cleared but Eversource crews remain on scene at this time. Please avoid the area.

Thank you Anheuser-Busch and National Volunteer Fire Council for the generous donation of emergency drinking water, and to Hartford Distributors for delivering it to our fire station! This water will help keep our firefighters hydrated during wildfires and extended responses in extreme heat.

Last night, the Drakeville Volunteer Fire Department held its annual elections for both Line and Administrative officers for the upcoming fiscal year.

Your 2026-27 Officers are:

President- Christopher Beyus
Vice President- Tom Purcha

Congrats to all the newly elected officers! Newly elected officers take their positions officially at the July Annual Meeting. We all look forward to another safe and successful year.

Just before 2 pm today, Drakeville Fire responded into the city on the second alarm structure fire assignment.

Crews assisted with overhaul and ventilation as well as assisting with returning Torrington Fire Apparatus back into service.

It’s been a busy Memorial Day for our members!

At 2:49 am this morning, our members responded into Norfolk to assist the Norfolk Volunteer Fire Department with town coverage while they operated at a fire in MA.

Once released, the trucks were re-washed and members participated in the Memorial Day Parade here in town.

We would like to take a moment to remember all those who have lost their lives in service to our country on this Memorial Day, and everyday. 🇺🇸

Calling all Food Trucks and Vendors!

We are looking for food trucks and vendors for our annual car show. We will not be operating a food booth so are looking for a minimum of 4 food trucks to participate. This annual event bring over 300 cars and thousands of people to Main Street!
