Torrance-Lomita Meals on Wheels A non-profit volunteer community service organization since 1972 providing home delivered meals

Our meals are prepared, cooked and packaged by the Salvation Army, Redondo Beach. They deliver the hot and cold meals to our office location at 3510 Maricopa in Torrance. For each client, we deliver two meals: one hot meal to be eaten at midday and a cold meal for the evening. The meals are delivered to our 100+ clients between 11:30am and 1pm, five days a week, Monday through Friday, except on holidays. Meals are planned by a registered dietician and are nutritionally balanced to include each of the four main food groups and provide two-thirds of the Recommended Daily Allowance. Our many volunteers, in teams of two (driver and rider), donate their time by delivering the meals to our homebound clients.

Sadly one of our treasured Meals on Wheels clients was a victim of an unfortunate fire in Lomita, CA. Pat and I have shared many a chats and she is a delightful woman. Thankfully no injuries to most all. Please consider giving to her GoFundMe page set up by her daughter. Seniors on fixed incomes have it rough already, these setbacks can be debilitating for their health and well being.

Torrance-Lomita Meals on Wheels is excited and very happy to be the recipient of a $25,000 COMMUNITY AWARD from AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR COMPANY. The funding will be utilized to provide meals to those clients down on their luck financially and in need of our services. It can serve 15 clients a free nutritious meal for 11 months. Effective Monday 12/19 Meals on Wheels has relocated. We are in Old Torrance at 1404 Cravens Avenue. Our phone number remains the same and our spirit is strong to carry out our mission. Thank you for your support along the way! We hope 2023 will be an exciting year for us.
