Scientific studies have proven that psycho-social support for cancer patients is a vital form of treatment in fighting the disease. Cancer Support Community South Bay is a chapter of the Cancer Support Community, an international non-profit with over 100 chapters worldwide. Our mission is to uplift and strengthen people impacted by cancer by providing support, fostering compassionate communities,

and breaking down barriers to care. CSC South Bay provides emotional support, education and hope for people affected by cancer and their loved ones in the South Bay, Long Beach, and Orange County. Our programs are developed from evidence-based psychosocial oncology and groups are facilitated by licensed therapists. Our services include weekly and monthly support groups, 16 cancer-specific groups, bereavement groups, programs geared specifically towards kids and teens, and both individual and family counseling services. Licensed therapists encourage participants to adopt a set of actions, behaviors, and attitudes that will improve the quality of their life and ultimately could increase the possibility of recovery. Accompanying our core programs are monthly educational workshops with experts in the fields of oncology, wellness, nutrition, and more. Participants also have full access to a variety of healthy lifestyle classes focusing on the mind-body connection as well as social events that foster community, positivity, and connection. Again, all of this is offered completely free of charge for ANYONE affected by cancer.

Curious about the role medical cannabis may play in cancer care? Join us for an informative discussion exploring the science, research, and potential therapeutic uses of medical cannabis for people impacted by cancer.

Led by Bonni Goldstein, MD, Medical Director of Canna-Centers, this workshop will cover the basic mechanisms behind medical cannabis and current research related to its use in cancer care.

Calling all young Jedi and Padawans for an afternoon of movement, music, and galactic fun 🌟

Kids will get active with lightsaber-inspired dancing and choreographed sparring routines while enjoying music from the Star Wars universe. This high-energy event is designed to help kids connect, have fun, and simply enjoy being together in a supportive community space.

Meal rations will be provided for all training Padawans and their clan 🍽️

Feeling overwhelmed by stress or uncertainty? You're not alone. Join us for a friendly, informal introduction to mindfulness and discover how simple mindfulness practices can support calm, focus, and emotional well-being.

We’ll explore the science behind mindfulness, try out some practices together, and leave plenty of room for questions. No experience necessary.
