Law enforcement knows no borders. 🇺🇸🤝🇳🇱

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming a state police officer from Netherlands, Jeffrey from Rotterdam, and photographer Mark from Vlaardingen. They were accompanied by retired Torrance PD officer John.

Jeffrey and Mark, initially stopped by to take photos with our patrol vehicles.

What started as a quick photo turned into a great opportunity to exchange department patches, share stories, and discuss the similarities and unique experiences of policing on opposite sides of the world.

Thank you, Jeffrey, Mark, and John for stopping by. Safe travels, and we look forward to crossing paths again someday!

3 times over the legal limit… not cool 😠

CHP South Los Angeles Area officers responded to a call of a possible medical emergency for an unresponsive driver stopped on the right shoulder of Interstate 105 west to Interstate 110 north. CHP officers located the driver slumped over the steering wheel with an open container within the vehicle. The driver was transported to a safe location off the freeway for evaluation. Following a series of field sobriety tests, the driver was determined to be 3 times over the legal limit and was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence.

Before you drink, make a plan. Choose a sober driver, call a rideshare, or stay the night. One decision can save a life – possibly your own. Drive sober. Arrive alive.

CHP cracks down on impaired drivers this weekend.

The CHP will flood roadways with all available officers this weekend in an aggressive effort to stop impaired drivers before they cause harm.

Our Maximum Enforcement Period (MEP) begins SATURDAY, June 20, at 6:01 p.m. and runs through Sunday, June 21, at 06:00am.

The California Highway Patrol is committed to keeping our roads safe, and we’re asking you to help us make a difference. Impaired driving, whether caused by alcohol, drugs, or medications, puts lives at risk. This month we honor the lives lost, support those affected, and double down on prevention.

✔️Plan ahead
✔️Use a designated driver
✔️Call a rideshare
✔️Never drive impaired

The CHP urges the public to remain vigilant and report any suspected impaired drivers. Remember, if you see something, say something – call 9-1-1. Your call could save someone’s life.
