The competition was fierce, and the school spirit was even stronger at this year’s Elementary Track Meet.

Students from all 17 elementary schools came together at West High School to compete in events like relays, hurdles, long jump, ball throw, and more. After weeks of school-site field days and qualifying events, our student-athletes brought their energy, determination, and teamwork to the track.

Balloons popped, bots battled, and the crowd cheered during this year’s Combat Bots Competition as students put their engineering skills to the test in one of the most exciting STEM events of the year!

70 years later, and the school spirit of the Torrance High School Class of 1956 remains as strong as ever!

We proudly hosted a special recognition celebration where various elected officials helped us honor the Class of ’56 and their lifelong connection to both Torrance High School and our wider Torrance community.

From singing the Torrance High alma mater together to sharing memories from the famous “Seniors Only” patio, the day was filled with laughter, reflection, and pride.

The Senior Class President of the group, Tony Ward, reflected on how much the world has changed since 1956 while celebrating the friendships and traditions that have stood the test of time. Even 70 years later, this remarkable group still gathers twice a year, with classmates traveling from near and far to stay connected.

Thank you to the Class of 1956 for reminding us that school connection, community, and lifelong friendships can truly last a lifetime.
