Town of Toronto, SD

Town of Toronto, SD Welcome to Toronto, SD

05/29/2026

The Town of Toronto will be operating on water tower only supply between 8:00 AM and 1:00 PM on Friday May 29th. During this time, residents are asked to limit water usage to help maintain adequate system capacity and pressure.

Normal, everyday water use for activities such as drinking, cooking, and restroom needs may continue as usual. However, residents are requested to avoid watering lawns, filling pools, or other high-volume water uses during these hours.

Your cooperation is appreciated and will help ensure reliable service for the Town while construction is underway.

UPDATE - The water service shut-down will be delayed by 1 day due to the weather. The new plan is to shut water down Tuesday, 4/28/26 between 8am and 6pm. This will be affecting the same customers as previously noted.

Prunty Construction will begin water main construction on Monday April 27th. This will result in a 1-day water service disruption to several users to allow for the connection to the existing water main and the installation of valves. The intent would be to shut off water for the users shown in red. However, if the existing valves do not fully close, the service disruption may extend into areas shown in blue. The water shut down is planned between 8:00AM and 6:00PM, however water may be restored earlier if the work is completed prior to that time.

Feel free to reach out to Lance Nolz – DGR (605-800-8590), if you have any questions or concerns.
