Jamie Stafford for USD 437 School Board I’m a lifelong Topekan who listens, leads thoughtfully, and puts students & families first. I grew up attending 437 schools, and now I’m raising my family here.

Priorities: Use resources wisely before raising taxes; Strengthen safe routes to school; Hire a collaborative superintendent who ensures every student’s success. I’m Jamie Stafford, and I’m running for a seat on the Auburn-Washburn USD 437 Board of Education. My children attend Farley Elementary and Washburn Rural North Middle School. Like you, I care deeply about the decisions that shape our schools and the future of our kids. As your representative on the board, I will advocate for policies that ensure safe, supportive classrooms where every student has an equal opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed. I’ll work to ensure our teachers are supported and respected, with policies that help, not hinder, their ability to teach effectively. I value honest communication, steady leadership, and decisions that keep students first. I’m running because I care and because I’m not afraid to ask hard questions. I’ll show up, speak up, and always keep the focus on what matters most: our kids.

I am so excited to welcome Dr. Collier as our next superintendent and look forward to her leadership, experience, and commitment to student success!

The Auburn-Washburn Board of Education has reached an agreement with Dr. Katie Collier to serve as the district’s next Superintendent of Schools.

Dr. Collier currently serves as Deputy Superintendent of Blue Valley School District and brings more than 30 years of experience in public education. She was selected following a comprehensive national search that included extensive community input.

Dr. Collier will succeed Dr. Scott McWilliams, who is retiring after 11 years of service to Auburn-Washburn. She is expected to begin her role on July 1, 2026, pending formal board approval at an upcoming meeting.

We have three excellent finalists for the next Superintendent. Tonight is your opportunity to meet them in person. Please join us from 6:30-8:30 at Indian Hills Elementary School for an informal meet-and-greet. Stop by to introduce yourself and share your perspective on the future of our district.

The Board of Education has named three finalists in its search for the district's next Superintendent of Schools. The finalists, listed in alphabetical order, are Dr. Kellen Adams, Dr. Kathleen (Katie) Collier, and Dr. Justin Henry.

Community members are invited to attend a public forum on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at Indian Hills Elementary School to hear directly from the candidates. All attendees will have the opportunity to submit feedback directly to the Board via an online submission form.
