The 23rd Great Plains Regional Future City Competition was held Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Washburn Rural North Middle School in Topeka, KS. There were 35 teams in attendance, including 3 from Oklahoma (2 from Enid, 1 from Tulsa)! Our region is proud to have two teams advancing to the DC Finals for Future City in mid-February. Our top four teams (one per organization) was 4th Place - Greenhattan from Odessa, MO, 3rd Place Reykjavik from West MS in Lawrence, KS, 2nd Place was Ostborg from Pike Valley JH in Scandia, KS, and 1st Place was Rio de Janiero from Southwest MS in Lawrence, KS. At our regional competition on Sat 1/18/2025, we had 38 teams participating from the following organizations: aSTEAM Village, Billy Mills MS (2), Chisholm Trail MS (2), Eisenhower MS, Hiawatha MS, Indian Hills MS (4), Indian Woods MS (4), Kansas City Academy, Liberty Memorial Central MS (4), Southwest MS (5), West MS (5), McPherson MS, Most Pure Heart of Mary CS, Oakhill DS, Odessa MS, Pike Valley JH, St John CS, Anthony MS.

Thanks to the students and educators/mentors for all their diligent work in preparing for the competition - hope to see you all back at our regional next year (Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the new Washburn Rural North Middle School - 2800 SW Auburn Rd, Topeka, KS 66614).
