April 25, El Dia del Niño, Community Resources Fair

Kansas Immigration Coalition in colaboración con otras organizaciones están planeando una feria de recursos que se llevará a cabo el 25 de abril, donde más de 45 organizaciones estarán compartiendo información con la comunidad.

Tendremos actividades para niños, información sobre “Conozca sus derechos”, y hablaremos sobre la ansiedad y el estrés en niños y familias. HealthCore ofrecerá exámenes físicos para menores que participan en deportes, así como cuidado de salud rutinario.

También estaremos apoyando a padres de familia para obtener un poder notarial relacionado con el cuidado médico, la educación, las finanzas y el bienestar de menores de edad.

One week ago today, more than 150 people came together for Latino Legislative Day! ✨

It was a powerful day of conversation where we discussed important issues impacting our communities and shared valuable resources available to help support them. 💬🤝

Thank you to our incredible panelists and presenters for sharing your knowledge and insight, and a special thank you to everyone who traveled from across Kansas to attend. Your time, voices, and participation made the day truly meaningful.

We are grateful for the opportunity to come together, learn from one another, and continue strengthening our communities.

UPDATE (7:40 P.M.): The fire is 0% contained and approximately 10-11 miles long. No loss of homes or injuries have been reported at this time. The fire is expected to burn through the night, and crews will remain on scene and monitor the progression of the fire. Local and state resources are assisting the Garden City Fire Department, and aerial assets provided by the state will be headed to the scene Wednesday morning to assist with the containment. We will provide updates as available and greatly appreciate our neighboring agencies for their outstanding support and assistance.

UPDATE (5:40 P.M.): Due to heavy smoke and zero visibility conditions from the fire, K-23 from Dighton (Lane County) to K-156 is closed in both directions. Multiple agencies are working to fight and contain the fire. Further updates will be provided when available.

ALERT - ACTIVE GRASS FIRE (2/17/26, 4:25 P.M.)

The Garden City Fire Department and multiple agencies are currently on scene of an active grass fire at 13890 Mennonite Road, Garfield Township. Due to heavy smoke and zero visibility from the fire, the public is asked to avoid the area until further notice. We will provide updates as available and once the fire has been contained.
