Kansas Hispanic & Latino American Affairs Commission KHLAAC is non-partisan. The Kansas Hispanic & Latino American Affairs Commission (KHLAAC) is proud to be a part of the Governor’s office.

The Commission is a seven member body appointed by political leaders in Kansas, and serves as a liaison for the Kansas Hispanic & Latino Community and the Office of the Governor. It is supported by a team of advisors from various industry sectors. KHLAAC addresses public policy concerns primarily in the areas related to education, health, and business. The Commission works closely with the Kansas

Hispanic & Latino American Legislative Caucus as well as other state agencies in order to improve the lives of all Kansans.

Welterweight champion Victor Ortiz autographed two boxing gloves and Gov. Sam Brownback signed an executive order honoring the Garden City native who found sports glory.
Ortiz, who won the World Boxing Council's title in April, was at the Statehouse on Tuesday for a ceremony marking the governor's proclamation declaring Victor Ortiz Day.

The Kansas House has refused to schedule a debate on HB 2372.
The vote Wednesday was 84-40 against pulling the measure from the House Judiciary Committee, where it has been tabled.
