This past Saturday, Chief Bender of the Topeka Volunteer Fire Department had the privilege of volunteering at the Noble County Youth Fire Camp.

It was an honor to spend time teaching, mentoring, and sharing our passion for the fire service with the next generation. Watching these young men and women learn new skills, build confidence, and work together as a team was truly rewarding.

Programs like this help inspire future firefighters and strengthen the bond between our departments and the communities we serve. Thank you to everyone who helped organize the camp and to all the campers for their hard work and enthusiasm throughout the week.

We continue to be overwhelmed by the incredible support shown to the Topeka Volunteer Fire Department and the Town of Topeka. Your donations, support, and belief in our department make investments like these possible.

Because of our amazing community and supporters, we have been able to purchase equipment totaling over $100,000, including:

🚒 Equipment carried on Apparatus totaling over $30,000
🚑 Our new 2026 Ford F-350 and equipment totaling over $87,000
🧯 Additional equipment and tools that help us better serve and protect our community

Every donation directly supports our firefighters and helps ensure we have the equipment needed to respond safely and effectively when our community calls.

The Topeka Fire Department is excited to announce the start of our upcoming Fire Academy beginning this August!

If you’ve ever considered serving your community, learning lifesaving skills, and becoming part of a dedicated team, this is your opportunity. Participants will receive hands-on training in firefighting, emergency response, teamwork, and more.
