What happens when a management issue turns into a legal issue?

County supervisors, department heads, administrators, elected officials, and staff deal with difficult situations every day: employee concerns, documentation questions, public conflict, grievances, workplace conduct, safety issues, and knowing when to involve HR, the county counselor, law enforcement, or outside counsel.

KAC’s Legal Aspects of Management course is designed to help county leaders think through those situations before they escalate.

A few seats are still available for tomorrow’s class.

Date: Wednesday, June 17, 2026
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Location: KAC Office, 715 SW 10th Ave., Topeka
Presenter: Craig Cox, retired Deputy County Counselor, Riley County
Lunch: Provided
Cost: $95/members

On-site registration is available. If someone from your county team would benefit from this training, they are welcome to join us.

📍Counties provide critical services to their constituents, even when funding and requirements are often controlled outside the county level.

📊 That is why KAC offers the Budgeting and Finance class through our Foundations in County Government professional development program. This course is designed for county officials and staff to strengthen practical budgeting skills for navigating local priorities, required services, and constraints outside of local control.
