FIREWORKS UPDATE: IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TOOELE CITY RESIDENTS

Tooele City is aware of Governor Spencer Cox’s recent announcement encouraging restrictions on fireworks due to current fire conditions across the state.

Our staff is currently reviewing the information provided by the Governor’s Office, the State Forester’s Office, and the Governor’s Executive Order to determine how it may impact Tooele City.

We understand that our residents want clear answers and direction. We also recognize the sensitivity of this situation. The safety of our citizens, firefighters, and other emergency responders remains our highest priority while also allowing our community to celebrate the Fourth of July as safely as possible.

We expect to issue an official statement early next week after we have completed our review and coordinated with the appropriate state agencies. Our website will be updated at that time with any changes or restrictions that may apply.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to provide accurate and timely information.

Congratulations to our 2026 Tooele City Fourth of July Parade Grand Marshal, Joe D. England!

Tooele City is proud to honor lifelong Tooele resident Joe D. England as the Grand Marshal of the 2026 Fourth of July Parade.

A fifth-generation Tooele native, Joe D. has spent a lifetime serving our community as an engineer, business owner, civic leader, volunteer, and devoted family man. His decades of service and dedication have helped shape the Tooele we know today, leaving a legacy that will benefit generations to come.

At 88 years old, Joe D. continues to exemplify the values of service, patriotism, and community. This year, he'll lead his hometown's Fourth of July Parade in his beloved 1957 pink Thunderbird—a fitting tribute to a man whose life has been dedicated to Tooele.

Please join us in congratulating Joe D. on this well-deserved honor and thanking him for his lifetime of service.

To the Residents of Tooele City,

As we head into the holiday season, we understand many residents are concerned about this year's dry conditions. We share those concerns, and keeping our community safe remains our highest priority.

While state law does not allow cities to completely ban fireworks during authorized dates, Tooele City has established restricted areas and will be actively enforcing all fireworks regulations.

Before using fireworks:
• Use fireworks only in approved areas.
• Follow all legal dates and hours.
• Keep a charged hose or water source nearby.
• Never use fireworks during windy conditions.
• Stay clear of dry grass, brush, trees, and structures.

Tooele City Police, Fire, and code enforcement personnel will be actively patrolling. Fireworks used outside approved areas, outside legal hours, or in violation of state or local regulations may result in citations, fines, and seizure of fireworks.
